My Views and Reviews - Drishyam

Hi,

I am not a film critic, I am a movie lover. Here I am sharing my view about the films which I watch. These are my personal views.

Drishyam

Last week I watched Drishyam, a complete enjoyable thriller after so much time and I liked it.

I liked the story. Sexual abuse and blackmailing is a big problem which parents of girls are facing these  days. Life takes a sudden U turn when such a thing happens unfortunately.

The tight script kept me totally engrossed in the film. I was curious to know that what will happen next. How the father will save his family. The hero manages the whole stormy situation confidently and calmly using his common sense. He tries to save his family and finally succeeds in doing so. Our sympathy  is with the family due to the loving and protective behavior of parents towards an adopted girl child.

Father’s calmness, strength, cleverness was beautifully shown by  Ajay Devgn. His eyes and walk added so much to his role. I was happy to see Tabu after so much time. Tabu looked smart and fitted into the role perfectly. She acted the role of arrogant  police officer efficiently. She was good as ruthless IGP Meera Deshmukh. Rajat Kapoor was good as understanding father and husband.

Everybody acted beautifully, especially the little girl. Shriya Saran looked glamourous and acted beautifully. Ishita Dutta looked and acted beautifully. Sameer was also good as a spoilt brat.

There were no unnecessary drama scenes. What I liked the most was the picturisation of their mutual trust and support . They believe each other and face the turmoil together courageously . The slow pace of the film matches the situations shown in the film.

The beautiful  location was a refreshing change. location, thrilling climax and brilliant acting of Ajay as a strong and protective father, Tabu as a strict police officer,  Baby Mrunal Jadhav as a sweet little girl who loves her family so much that she tolerates all the torture by the ploice. But one actor who supports the entire cast by his powerful and extra-ordinary acting was Kamlesh Sawant  who was superb  in the role of the corrupt unscrupulous sub-inspector, Gaitonde.

As far as music is concerned, all songs were the part of the film but I liked  ‘Dum Ghutta Hai’.

But the real hero of the film was the unexpected and fantastic climax.

  Story Line:

Drishyam is a family oriented film, an imotional thriller. Drishyam is the story of a happy family whose lives turn upside down and the father tries hard to protect his family. Ajay Devgn, who plays a school dropout common man in this film, removes all the clues using  his intelligence and common sense  to save his family from the disaster.

Interesting facts:

*The film is a remake of the Malayalam film of the same name, directed by Jeethu Joseph with Mohanlal and Meena in the lead.

*Ajay Devgn, known for his hard-hitting performances in films like Zakhm, Omkara, Gangajal and Singham, returns this year with his solo release – Drishyam

* Tanushree Dutta's  younger sister, Ishita Dutta, is  making  her Bollywood debut with Drishyam.

*Ajay Devgn said,” It took me 30 seconds to decide whether I should do a Zakhm or not, as in 30 seconds, Bhatt sahab narrated me the idea and I could see the emotion on his face and I said, `Done. I am doing it.' I have not heard anything like that. That's what I found in Drishyam after a long time – the script, the sensibilities, and the intelligence and keeping all that in mind, it is completely an edge of-the-seat commercial thriller."

*Nishikant Kamat who has set a benchmark for his direction in films like 'Force' and the award winning Marathi film like 'Lai Bhaari' and Dombivali Fast, is back with a thriller.

*After a long gap of 16 years, Ajay and Tabu are appearing again on silver screens with ‘Drishyam’. They are childhood friends.

*Not just Bollywood celebrities, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has also praised the film.
*The film was entirely shot  in Goa.
