Wedding Ceremony,
Tuesday, November 16, 2014.
Falaknuma Palace,

After the star studded mehendi and sangeet ceremonies in Mumbai, the Khan and Sharma wedding party headed to Hyderabad for Arpita Khan's lavish wedding, along with their close friends from the film industry.

 Wedding Invitation Card

It was an elegant  invitation card in white, gold and pink. It had a floral design with a beautiful emboss of gold on its cover. The guests had reportedly received a special batch of cupcakes with the card.

Wedding in Nizam Palace

The Khan brothers had booked the entire Taj Falaknuma Palace, Hyderabad for two days (18 and 19 November) and had  reportedly shelled out Rs.2 crore alone for that. Falaknuma, which is perched atop a hill, has 60 beautiful rooms. It is the palace of the seventh Nizam, Mehboob Ali Khan and was restored into a luxury hotel by Taj Group of Hotels in 2010. Wedding took place according to Punjabi Hindu rituals.

Seen here, Aayush bends down for Arpita during the jaimala.

Father of the bride Salim Khan and his second wife, veteran actress Helen, did the kanyadaan. Arpita's brothers Salman and Sohail stood watch.

Bollywood biggies Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and of course the Salman himself made it one of the most memorable wedding of the year.

For the wedding, Malaika changed into a sari by Seema Khan.

Wedding Dress:
For Arpita:

Arpita wore a red couture ghagra by designer duo Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla, constructed with panels of scarlet fabric and embellished with gold farisha, vasli, and badla embroidery. And to cover her head, she chose a matching dupatta trimmed with gold crochet and lace. That paired with exotic flowers in her hair, a heavy polki haar, and make-up by Daniel Bauer had her ready for pheras.

For Ayush:

A leading ethnic wear manufacturer in Hyderabad had made a special sherwani to present it as a gift to Aayush Sharma, who married Bollywood star Salman Khan's sister Arpita Khan on November 18.

Makhdoom Brothers, a city-based clothier, designed and manufactured the wedding sherwani. Studded with Swarovski beads of crystal glass from Austria, the golden-colour sherwani is made of Jamawar, a special cloth.

"We have also used dabka beads. It's all handwork. It took 15 days for four workers to prepare this," said Abid Mohiuddin, one of the owners of Makhdoom Brothers.

He said that since Salman and his family members were the guests of Hyderabad, they decided to present the sherwani as a gift. Started in 1895, Maqdoom Brothers were official caterers for the Nizams, the rulers of erstwhile Hyderabad State. They presented a Jodhpuri to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and sherwanis to former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf and former South African president Thabo Mbeki. The sherwanis for Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik for his marriage with Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza also came from Maqdoom.

The guests were served brunch, lunch and dinner with almost all the dishes on 18 November. Hyderabadi cuisine like Biriyani, 'Haleem' and Pathar Ka Gosht were also among the popular Deccani cuisines to be served at the function.

Priyanka Chopra obliged and read out an emotional speech written by Arpita Khan. This was a real touching one. She said that she was the luckiest girl to have a family like this. Sohail bhai, to her, was like a friend with whom she shared haer room, till he got married. Arbaaz bhai was a guide, who guided her always. Salman Bhai had the biggest heart , who thought that she would never go wrong. Her parents, Salma, Helen, and Salim Khan were the best.

Arpita was an orphan who was adopted by the Khans. But she was the darling of the house. Actually she as the most loved one. Never once did she feel like an outsider. And see how the family carried its responsibility.
