Shahid Kapoor weds Mira Rajput

Shahid Kapoor married Mira Rajput at a private ceremony. They got married on 7th July. Mira Rajput is 13 years younger than Shahid Kapoor. She is a LSR graduate from Delhi University.

Bridal Shower: 

Mira's bridal shower-cum-bachelorette-party took place at her Chattarpur home earlier this year (Saturday night , May 16, 2015). Shahid was a part of the festivities. Shahid had gifted his soon-to-be bride, a solitaire worth a whopping Rs 23 lakh. Shahid has the solitaire set in a customised ring made to the taste of the bride and that Shahid picked it up himself.

Designer Ravish Kapoor, who is behind the turquoise and off-white invite, said the colour combination, detailing and gifts accompanying the wedding card was Shahid's choice. The card along with the gifts was packed in the form of a tea blend as Shahid's actor father Pankaj Kapur is a tea lover.

Mehendi / Haldi / Kaleera & Sangeet Ceremony

Gurgaon.

Pre-wedding ceremonies like the Sangeet and Mehendi was an intimate affair.

Dress:

In keeping with the theme of her haldi and kaleera ceremony, Mira worn bright, sunshiny yellow Lehenga Choli for her Sangeet ceremony which was designed by Designer Anita Dongre. She was seen with a garland of white flowers to match a wreath on her head.

Shahid  Kapoor looked dashing in a red Nehru jacket over a red  kurta and a black churidaar , designed by his  best friend and Mumbai-based designer Kunal Rawal .

 Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput had a Punjabi sangeet at a five-star hotel in Gurgaon on Monday. The ceremony featured lots of singing and dancing to many of Kapoor's hit songs, such as 'Mauja Hi Mauja' ,'Tu Mere Agal Bagal Hai' and 'Saree Ke Fall Sa'.

Members of Kapoor's family including father Pankaj Kapur, his wife Supriya Pathak, and Shahid's mother Neelima Azeem  and step siblings Sanaah and Ruhaan  were spotted having a good time at the function.

Punjabi  Wedding  - Anand Karaj

New Delhi.

Their wedding rituals took place in simple Gurudwara style (Anand Karaj) in presence of members of Radha Soami Satsang Beas group.

About 40 people were present to witness the ceremony. Shahid Kapoor's close friends like Vikas Bahl, Vishal Bhardwaj , Masaba Gupta and her husband  Madhu Mantena, were there for the function in Delhi.

Shahid signed some official papers as a part of the wedding ritual.

Dress:

Mira wore a lime green and pink churidar and was adorning a big maang-tika.

Shahid was wearing a white kurta donning a pink and yellow pagdi.

The outfits were designed by Masaba Gupta.

Shahid Kapoor's mother Neelima Azeem was very happy to get a daughter-in-law like Mira Rajput as she said that she's the kind of girl she always wanted for her son.

She was dressed in a delicate rose-hued lehenga designed by Anamika Khanna. She sported an elaborate Navratna neckpiece and earrings set, and teamed her look with a ‘maang-tika’ and a ‘jhoomar’ on the side of her head.

Shahid looked dashing in cream-white sherwani suit.

Mira wore head ornaments that decorated her low-bun hairdo.

Gurgaon.

The ensembles were ready, family members had arrived, guests were pouring in, the venue was set with 50 rooms blocked at a Gurgaon hotel, and its grand Presidential Suite was  occupied - preparations for Shahid Kapoor's wedding in Gurgaon on Tuesday (July 7) were on in full swing.

An after-party  was held later that  evening at The Oberoi in Gurgaon where the ballroom had been booked. 

500-odd guests were believed to have been invited, mostly family, some friends and members of the Radha Soami Satsang to which both families belong.

Dress:

For the reception that evening Mira looked beautiful  in golden half cape on a beautifully embroidered ivory lehenga, designed by Anamika Khanna . She picked side sweeping passa for hairstyle. it looked amazing on her. Shahid looked dapper in a black bandhgala suit.

After the wedding in Delhi, the newly weds flew  to Mumbai, where a grand reception was  planned for July 12. Shahid's film industry colleagues were part of the celebrations.

The newly-weds, who walked in hand-in-hand, looked the picture of happiness. Mira looked lovely in blue and white Manish Malhotra creation and teamed it with jewels from Nirav Modi's Luminance Collection, wearing a bracelet, cascading earrings and ring.

Shahid and Mira's reception on July 12 was a grand and starry affair. Held at the Palladium Hotel, it was a star-studded affair. 

Shahid Kapoor's mother Neelima Azim and her son Ishaan Khattar were the first to reach the venue.

Ratna Pathak Shah, sister of Shahid's step mother Supriya Pathak, came with her sons Vivaan and Imaad.

Big B, who was among the first to arrive, was dapper in a black bandhgala and chatted amicably with the newly weds and Shahid's father, actor Pankaj Kapur.

Sonam, who arrived with her father Anil Kapoor, looked stunning in a peacock blue and green anarkali. Kangana Ranaut was fabulous in pink. Alia Bhatt, who is working with Shahid in Udta Punjab and Shaandaar, looked fetching in a white and lilac Manish Malhotra lehenga

Actresses Genelia Deshmukh and Shraddha Kapoor looked exquisite in delicately embroidered anarkalis. Dia Mirza managed to out-bling everyone else in a heavily embellished Anita Dongre anarkali. She came with Sahil Sangha.

Preity zinta, Sonu Sood, Siddhartha Roy Kapoor, Bhushan Kumar, Anurag Kashyap, Abbas-Mastan Brothers, Sajid Nadiadwala and Vishal Bhardwaj, Tushar Kapoor, Manish Paul, Shamak Davar, Ranvir Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Imtiyaz Ali also attended the function.

Designer Masaba Gupta and her husband Madhu Mantena; producers Krishika and Sunil Lulla, Shahid's Shaandaar co-star Sanjay Kapoor and director Vikas Bahl, UTV's Siddharth Roy Kapur, actors Tusshar Kapoor, Sonu Sood and Siddhanth Kapoor; Bhushan Kumar of T-Series were also present.

Shahid Kapoor’s stepfather Rajesh Khattar and his wife Vandana Sajnani were also seen at the reception.

Shahid with his famil:
 Shahid Kapoor has two half-siblings; half-brother Ruhaan and half-sister Sanaah, who are Pankaj Kapur and Supriya Pathak’s children.

He has another half-brother Ishaan khattar who is son of his real mother Neelima Azeem and actor Rajesh Khattar.
